Barr. Toyin Saraki, wife of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki has reacted to the comment of an instagram user who used unprintable words on her family.
The instagram user with the name Crystal_Celina@J.oyekanmi took to the comment section of a family photo shared by the Mrs Saraki, on Instagram some weeks ago and left an uncomplimentary comment there.
Mrs Saraki took out time to address his allegations and also schooled the user on what her husband has been able to achieve since he joined politics.
Mrs Saraki while responding to the allegations wrote on her IG: “I don’t usually intervene on posters opinions because I believe in freedom of speech, thought and expression and I enjoy reading diverse opinions.
“However, when I see fallacies being propagated, it’s important to present verified facts when available. You might not know that the Conditional Cash Transfers designed to address poverty and vulnerability currently being expanded across states in Nigeria, originally started in Kwara State in 2007 under the gubernatorial administration of Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki.”
Mrs Saraki added that the Core of the Poor (COPE)was a Kwara State Government-run Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) which started as a pilot in 2007 and had reached its third phase in 2011.
“The objective of COPE was to break the intergenerational transfer of poverty, to reduce the vulnerability of the core,” Mrs Saraki stated.
