NDLEA uncovers ‘warehouse’ stocked with 4.3 tons of hemps in Ilorin: The Kwara State Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) uncovered a ware house in Ilorin and seized 4.336 tons of cannabis Sativa worth N15million in January.

The warehouse which was uncovered in Osere area off Asa Dam road, Ilorin was stocked with 396 bags of cannabis (hemp).

Dele Belgore, ex-minister arrested, arraigned by EFCC oOffN300m election fund: Former Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party,( PDP) in Kwara State, Dele Belgore (SAN) and former minister of National Planning, prof Abubakar Suleiman were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the Federal High Court, Lagos for alleged money laundering in February..

They were arraigned before Justice Muhammed Aikawa on a five-count charge. EFFC accused them of conspiring to directly take possession of the N450million, which they reasonably ought to have known formed part of the proceeds of an unlawful act.

Ex- Kaiama LG boss accused of N211m fraud: Chairman of the Elders Forum of All progressives Congress (APC) in Kaiama, Alhaji Soliu Ahmed accused the immediate past chairman of the council, Alhaji Alhassan Bagudu of defrauding the local government to the tune of N211 million during his tenure in office.

Ahmed, who is the Sarduana of Kaiama.

Scandal: Popular Ilorin pastor, Omolehin in alleged land fraud: Popular Ilorin pastor of the Word Commission International better known as Word Assembly Church, Evang. Isaac Omolehin, was dragged before the High Court in Ilorin over alleged refusal to release 30 plots of lands to one Alhaji Ajayi Ogidiolu, an international businessman, after collecting full payment for the property.

The land located at Ogbondoroko in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State, was reportedly Sold to ogidiolu (claimant) by Omolehin (defendant) for N3.6million in 2012. Joined in the suits was a senior pastor in the church, Kayode Oluleye.

3 Sentenced to death by hanging over attack on Unilorin don: The Kwara State High Court sentenced one Opeyemi Esan and his accomplice, Benjamin Moses Musa and Oluwasegun Omoyajowo Ajiboye to death by hanging over attempted murder of Prof. Onimisi Abdullah of the University of Ilorin.

They were convicted over a three- count charge of criminal conspiracy, armed Robbery and culpable Homicide contrary to section 97 of the Penal Code Law, section 2(1) of the Armed Robbery and firearms Act 2004 and section 229 of the Penal Code Law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

NSCDC arrest 5 illegal miners, recover 70 bags of gold ore in Moro: The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command arrested five suspected illegal miners and recovered over 70 bags of Gold Ore at a mining site in Odonigi Village in Moro Local Government Area of the state.

The miners were, Mohammed Yahaya, Mohammed Joffa, Aremu Rasaq, Aliyu Ndagi and the leader of the group simply identified as Mumini.

Herdsman attacks farmer, cuts off hand in Kaiama: A 25-year-old farmer, Olaide Yahya, had his hand chopped off by suspected herdsmen during an attack on his farm located at Oke-Odo in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Cultists unleash terror in Ilorin, kill 7 in 3 days: Bloody cult clashes claimed seven lives in Ilorin, Kwara State. The incident occurred in different parts of the metroplis viz Ikororo, Baboko, Osere, Olunlade, Egbejila and Coca-Cola roads. This medium gathered that the clashes were between members of the Aiye and rival of Eiye Confraternities.

Soldiers, NSCDC allegedly torture Ilorin Lawyer to coma: An Ilorin-based Lawyer, Mustapha Abdulquadri narrowly escaped deathย ย as he was allegedly beaten to coma by uniformed men over a land dispute.

He suffered multiple injuries following the alleged attack by the men comprising of army and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps( NSCDC) officers.

Police kill 30-yr-old vulcaniser in Ilorin: Men of the Kwara State Police Command killed a vulcaniser, Sulaiman Yakub, 30, at Ago Ayekale, Gaa-Akanbi area of Ilorin.

It was also gathered that, the incident occurred when six policemen patrol team, led by one Inspector Monsurat, a resident of the area, were on a mission to rid the community of suspected cultists.

Angry mob demolishes alleged ritualists’ den in Ilorin: There was bedlam as angry residents of Kokorokan Stree, Abata Susban in Ita Kudimo, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State pulled down an alleged ritualists’ den in the area.

Also,a suspected ritualist simply identified as Wasiu Iseoluwa was caught in the act with human parts and lifeless baby in the den.

Armed robbers target churches in Ilorin: Crime took new dimension in Ilorin, sometimes in June when men of the underworld targeted churches for their operations. No fewer than four churches were robbed within the metropolis in the spate of one month.

The affected churches were Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel, Gaa- Imam;ย ย Christ Apostolic Church, Alabukun of Ita – Alamu; Firstย ย Baptist Church, Surulere, and New Testaments Christian church of Oko-Erin all within the state capital.

5 Remanded in KWIRS receipt scam: Five suspected fraudsters were remanded for allegedly forging the receipt of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) to dupe government contractors to the tune of N440,000.

The accused persons are Arowoseye Mumeen and Bolaji Abubakar both Staff of the State Ministry of Energy while Olaojo Ebenezer works with the state Town planning Authority.

Others are Wasiu Ibrahim and Remi Ajibade, both residents of Gaa- Akanbi area of Ilorin. Their sixth collaborator, one Kolawole Kazeem escaped arrest.

9 Arrested over Indian hemp festival in Ilorin: No fewer than nine persons were arrested in Kwara State for allegedly organising Indian hemp (Igbo) festival in Ilorin.

The suspects were said to be secondary school students.

3 killed in Odo-Owa/Ilofa clash: Odo-Owa and Iloffa communities both in Oke – Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State boiled as residents took up arms against one another.

The victims, including one Akin Olaniyi were hit by stray bullets. Bank customers, passers-by and shop owners in the area scampered for safety as the policeman shot sporadically for about 10minutes.

Horror in Ilorin: Islamic cleric kills friend, exhumes corpse for rituals: Residents of Oloje in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State were terrified as decomposing human parts were found at the Eleran compound residence of an Islamic cleric, Folorush Babatunde.

The resident had earlier woken up in the morning to discover that the corpse of one Sulaiman, who was said to have died under mysterious circumstances and buried at Onilu compound, Oloje, had disappeared from its grave.

Reckless driver kills SARS officer, injures another in Ilorin: A reckless commercial driver whose name could not be ascertained reportedly murdered a Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad officer, Sgt Aminu Yusuf and inflicted a fatal injury on one Muhammed Baruba. The incident was said to have occurred at Ote Expressway in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The careless driver was said to have hit the victim with the car and killed him on the spot in an attempt to avoid being stopped by SARS for overspeeding.

Kwara Police in ritual scandal: Men and officers of Adewole Police Division of the Kwara State Police Command were allegedly to be working as agents for ritualists in the state.

Unilorin Chief Imam, Oladosu, Don, 4 others docked over alleged abduction of woman, 4 kids: The magistrate court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital docked the Chief Imam of University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Oladosu and a Don, Dr Ashiru Abdulsalam for allegedly abducting one Fatima Abubakar (married) and her four children.

Also docked with the duo before Magistrate Mustapha Lawal were; Tosho Abubakar Salau, Lanre Salau, Bayo Abubakar Salau and Mallam Abubakar Salau.

Cultism: 11 Suspected Badoo members remanded in Ilorin: Eleven suspected members of the dreaded Badoo group were remanded by the magistrate court, sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital for allegedly causing havoc in the metropolis.

The police First Information Report (FIR) obtained by this medium identified names of members of the group as: Bashiru Habeeb, Abdulrasaq Abdulfatai, Ridwan Ganiyu, Rilwan Abdulazeez and Isah Idowu. Others are Muyideen Mahmud, Ibrahim Abdulganiyu Sakariyau Moshood, Abubakar Isiaq, Abdulwahab Ibrahim and Yunus Mubarak, arraigned before Magistrate Ibitayo Olawoyin.

 

Ilorin School proprietor allegedly dupes students N19m: The Manager of Voyage Institute of Advance Studies in Adewole area of Ilorin, was arrested for allegedly duping 115 students of the sum of N19m.

Unilorin Post Graduate Student, kidnapped: A post graduate Student of the University of Ilorin, Omoniyi Olumide was kidnapped by suspected ritualists. He was forced to drink urine while he was held in the kidnappers’ den.

Mike Omotosho’s 71-yr-old mum abducted: Abducted mother of Dr. Mike Omotosho, National Chairman of Labour Party (LP), Mrs Elizabeth Omotosho was abducted by gunmen from her Tanke, Ilorin residence.

KWASU student kidnapped: A 200 Level student of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Dorcas Oluwatimilehin Olarewaju was reportedly kidnapped while going for her first semester examination.

But was later set free by her abductors early Friday.

Civil Defence officers beat 2 KWARTMA staff to coma: Two employees of the Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARTMA) David Kehinde Oyun and Mrs. Zainab Lawal were reportedly beaten to a pulp in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital by officers of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) while on duty.

Suspected female kidnapper set ablaze in Ilorin: A suspected female kidnapper was set ablaze in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

It was gathered that the woman had gone to a school within Kilanko area around 9am where she attempted to take abduct a twin on the pretext that their mother had sent her to pick them up.

Day old baby dismembered in Ilorin: Residents of Ondoko, Okelele area of Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, woke up to discover the body of dismembered day old baby beside a gutter in the community.

The lifeless body of the boy was discovered with some parts missing raising suspicion that he may have been dumped in the area by suspected ritualists.
