Emirate youth tasks new Saraki’s aides on community devt

The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has expressed gratitude and praise to Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki over the recent board appointments in the state even as it charged his newly appointed Assistant Legislative Aides (SLAs) to make community development their paramount focus.

The charge was contained in statement signed by the National President, Alhaji Abdullah Babatunde Salau and National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Muhammed Usman Jagunmon made available to Pilot Politics Sunday.

IEYDA is a non political youth association under the auspices of the Emir of Ilorin, which comprised the community development associations across the five local governments that made up Ilorin Emirate.

The statement particularly praised Saraki over the choice of members of community development associations as his SLAs and tasked the appointees on development across the community.

While describing the Senate President as a listener, the IEYDA said appointment of SLAs would go a long way in meeting its demands of reducing the rate of youth unemployment and the need to engage them on social, political and economic activities in the state.

The association also expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Saraki for facilitating federal employments for two members of the association, Alawaye Muinat Mojisola from Awe Orimaro ward in Asa Local Governments and Sakariyahu Shehu from Gambari ward lI in Ilorin East.

The statement said “We are glad to have received his good response with two slots of federal employments and 52 from the newly appointed 165 Assistant Legislative Aides in all the 52 wards across the Kwara Central Senatorial District.

“The 52 of the Assistant Legislative Aides, which is first of its kind, are basically for non political community development associations under the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA).

“We… appeal to other sons and daughters of the Emirate to take it as paramount the development of our community through the engagement of our youth, artisans, and aged with educational support, scholarships, employments, empowerments and patronising indigenous artisans within Ilorin Emirate community”, the statement added.
