Senate President and chairman of the National Assembly, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki has reached a threshold of over a million followers on twitter, it was gathered last night.
The latest development is coming despite the Code of Conduct Trail (CCT) trial of the Senate President.
Recall that Saraki had complained publicly that his protracted trial was nothing but political persecution by his detractors following his emergence as the senate president.
The huge figure is expected to swell with additional hundred thousand followers before the end of the month.
According to the aide of the Senate President on new media, Bankole Omisore, his detractors should desist from the pull-him-down-syndromeโ adding that such attitude can only make him more popular.
โThey can keep trying to pull down @bukolasaraki but they are only making him more popular. Over 1 thousand followers today alone to put him right on 1 Million followers on twitter. 1.1 by end of the month won’t be a bad ideaโ Omisore tweeted.
Saraki is one of the few senators who are active on twitterย and made the list of ten most followed senators in the country in a report by online news medium, TheCable two years ago.
The report said Saraki has been on Twitter since 2010 and has a following of over 548, 000 in 2016 before the current figure.
