Kwara Prison Command promotes 146 officers

The Prisons Service, Kwara State Command, last Thursday, promoted 146 officers into various ranks in the sector.
The promotion of the 146 officers however came on the heels of directives by the Controller General of Prisons (CGPS) Ahmed Jaafaru.
The decoration ceremony was conducted by the state Controller of Prison, Jide Joseph Olorunmola who was elevated to the rank of an Asst. Controller General of Prison (ACG) penultimate week in Abuja.
In his official address delivered by the Deputy Controller of Prisons in charge of Administration (DCP), Emmanuel Femi Tolorunsagba, he appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Interior and the CGPS for the elevation of the prison officers.
He also charged the promoted officers to be diligent in order to meet up with the challenges of their new offices.
Responding, the officer in charge of Omu Aran Medium Security Prison, who spoke on behalf of the promoted officers, vowed that prison service will not regret the honour bestowed on them.
In attendance are the representative of the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Federal Road Safety, and the Immigration Service.
