Ilorin Rotary club donates cheque, items to less privileged
The President, Rotary Club of Ilorin, G.R.A Alhaji Alabi Amuda has said the club remains resolute in delivering humanitarian services to the less privilege in the society.
Alhaji Amuda, gave this assurance during the presentation of N92,000 cheque, sewing and hair dressing machines to some beneficiaries at Kwara Hotel, Ilorin, on Tuesday.
Amuda, who served as permanent secretary, Ministry of Works and Transports, said the gesture was part of empowerment programmes embarked upon by the club.
According to him, the club is focusing on two areas, which include; vocational skills/education which is one of the basic economic needs of the people.
He said other area in which the club will focus on are; peace/conflict resolution, disease prevention, maternal and child health and sanitation.
The cheque was presented to the representatives of Muslim and Christian orphanage home for the payment of two students each from the orphanage home for this year’s West Africa Examination.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries from two orphanage homes in the state, Mrs. Christy Oladuni Omoleyin, Coordinator of Hope Orphanage home expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club of Ilorin, G.R.A for the gesture, adding that the scholarship was timely.
