While the likes of Shadrack Joseph and Victoria Okeke dropped out in semifinals in male and female 100m respectively.
Speaking on the development, Kwara State Athletics Coach Adeyemi Abiodun praised his athletes for their wonderful display at the trials despite the challenges faced on their way to Abuja for the competition.
โ€œI want to praise my athletes for this great achievement because I didn’t expect that performance with what we experienced on the road. Our vehicle spoilt and we have to sleep in the bush so, fatigue and exhaustion had affected them but they fought very hard and came out with a good performance,โ€ Biodun said.
The coach however appealed to the state government to also look into other sports apart from football in order to improve their performance at the national championship.
