As the 7th state Trade Fair approaches, the Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA) has budget the sum of N1.7m for grass cutting and erection of makeshift shops in preparation for the event, Pilot Business can report.
The fair, which is billed to commence on 26th March, will be held at the Baseball Park in Adewole, Ilorin, the state capital.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with this medium recently, the Executive Secretary of the chamber, Barrister Ayo Fagbemi disclosed that the improvised shops would be allocated to intending exhibitionists.
He, however, said that corporate bodies were yet to make financial commitment towards the fair.
According to Fagbemi, โAll is now set for the official take off of the 7th Kwara Trade Fair as necessary logistics are being put in place. We have been mapping out strategies to ensure a hitch-free trade fair in the state as our official marketers, Anista Marketing and Events Ltd will arrive the state by the first week in March.
โOur brochure is out where we detailed the cost of space and by next week we would have been done with the clearing as all the gadgets for the trade fair would have arrived by then. We have supplied blocks for erection of structures at the venue.
There will be jingles and road shows in order to create awareness about the programme,โ he further said.
Fagbemi further disclose that the trade fair committee would soon be inaugurated, adding that representatives from ministries of Commerce, Agric, Information, and some federal institutions in the state among others are members of the organising committee.
He therefore advised the entrepreneurs in the state to seize the opportunity to exhibit made- in- Nigeria products, as people from other countries will be participating in the trade fair, assuring that security of lives and property is guaranteed as adequate measures have been put in place for safety.
