OGS, Old students, pledges  commitment to infrastructure upgrade

 

The Old Students Association of Oro Grammar School (OGS), Oro, has pledged its commitment to upgrading of facilities at the school which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Haman Capital Development, Ilorin, yesterday, Hajia Mariam Ayodeji Garba, the Chairman of the group, Dr Akinwale Adebisi appreciated the state government under the leadership of Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed for its giant stride in the education sector.
He however lamented encroachment on portions of land belonging to the school thereby calling for quick intervention of the state government.
“As Old students, we will not relent in the ongoing renovation project to redeem the past glory of our school,” he added.
Similarly, the National Publicity Secretary, Tunji Ajanaku appealed for more facilities at OGS, Oro being one of the oldest schools in the state.
In her remarks, Hajia Garba commended the old students for their patriotic zeal and determination to improve the standard of education in their community.
