By Mike Adeyemi

The Director General of Kwara State Bureau of Land, Alh. Ibrahim Salman has decried what he described as housing deficiency in the state.
Fielding questions from Pilot Business in his office on Tuesday, he noted that there is gross deficiency in the housing scheme in the state  and by extension Nigeria in general.
He, however, applauded the housing project of the Federal Governmentin partnership with the state government  at Wara/Osin in Ilorin West Local Government Area.
Saliman said the housing initiative by the Federal Government will be a relief and reduce accommodation problem encountered by people  and  invariably go a long way to meet the housing deficits in the state.
“It is timely as these housing units will go a long way in ameliorating the shortfalls in the housing sector in the country and particularly in Kwara State,” he stressed.
According to him, the core mandate of the Kwara Bureau of Lands is purely land management and its usage as directed and guided by the Land Act.
He disclosed that it costs N99,500 to get Certificate of Occupancy in the state, urging house owners who are yet to get theirs to get it to avoid having their lands revoked.
