Iwobi grateful to fans, eager for great results in Russia
Nigeria winger, Alex Iwobi, insists that the team will work hard to improve on their performance following the 2-1 defeat to England in a pre-World Cup friendly game at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
Iwobi scored the Super Eagles only goal of the game and was unarguably Nigeria’s best player on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes of play.
Gary Cahill and Harry Kane was both on target for England who bossed proceedings in the first half and could have scored more but for the efforts of Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho who posted a fine performance in the game.
The Arsenal player also thanked the fans who came out en masse to support the team at the magnificent ground.
โLove To All The Naija Supporters That Came Out To Wembley Today And To All The Nigerians Supporting Around The World. Not The Result We Wanted But We Push Forward To Russia ?????,โ reads a tweet on his Twitter handle.
The Super Eagles will take on Czech Republic in their next friendly in Vienna, Austria on Wednesday.
