Attempted Assassination: Labour party calls for security of guber candidates in Kwara

The chairman of the Kwara State chapter of the Labour Party, Comrade AbdulMumini AbdulKareem Onagun has called for the security of governorship candidates taking part in the general elections in the state in February.
The party’s gubernatorial candidate, Comrade Issa Aremu last week raised the alarm over at attempted to assassinate him by some people in Abuja shortly after observing his dawn prayers.
Speaking to National Pilot in a telephone chat on the issue last night, Onagun said it is high time that the security agencies protect the lives of governorship candidates in the state.
According to him, “There was an attempt on the life of our governorship candidate last week after he finished his early morning prayer in Abuja. It was God who saved him and he reported to drove straight to the office of the IGP to report the issue.
“We want to call on security agencies in the state to provide security for all the governorships and other candidates in the state especially our own person.
“Those involve should know that this election should not be a do or die affair and that it is only almighty God that gives and takes power. Allah is not only watching but they should know that they will be called to account one day.
“We warn those involved that the security agencies are on their watch and they should desist or be ready to face the full wrath of the law if arrested”, he added
