Iran aims to stop high flying Ronaldo

Iran is set to stop Portugal in a bid to qualify for the knock-out stage of the World Cup, a win for Team Melli will seal a qualification for them and a draw for the Selecao will also see them book a place in the second round of the tournament.
Team Melli will be without defender Rouzbeh Cheshmi for the decisive encounter against Portugal due to injury in their last group game on Monday at the Mordovia Arena (Saransk).
The Selecao has no injury worry as coach Fernando Santos has his team fit team for the clash against the Atlas Lion of Morocco in their final Group match on Monday.
Iran and Portugal have met on one occasion, Portugal won the match and the clash on Monday will represent their second clash between both sides.
Iran has been in a fine form so far in the World Cup, they defeated Morocco in their opening game and narrowly lost to Spain in their in their second game.
Carlos Queiroz’s men still have a point to prove going into this game as a win will see them qualify for the next round.
The European Champion is one of the best teams in the tournament and they have really shown a good form in their last two games in the World Cup, they have four points from their last two games which put them in a better position to reach the knockout stage ahead of Iran.
