Wealthy Nigerians have again been charged to ensure well-being of the less privileged particularly widows and orphan by showing them love and through charity.

A Cleric, Prophet Akin Awoye gave the charge at the weekend in his message delivered at the 14th year thanksgiving service of Egbe Ori Oke Ayomide Onimajemu prayer meeting group of Mount Sinai, Basin road, Ilorin, Kwara State.

Speaking on the theme “Great is the Lord”, prophet Awoye noted that widows and the less privileged are vulnerable to various attacks and discrimination, hence the need to pay greater attention to their welfare and well being.

The cleric called on government to create special package for widows to care for their basic needs.

He lamented the non-challant attitude most Nigerians have towards these categories of people, advising the people to have a change of heart.

Prophet Awoye commended the initiator of the programme, Prophetesses Iyabo Ayodele for her commitment, urging her not to relent in bringing succour to the downtrodden.

In her remarks, Prophetesses Ayodele said her desire to take care of the widows prompted the introduction of the programme, calling on wealthy individuals and the government to key into the idea.

She pledged not to relent in the task of making life bearable and easy for the widows and the less privileged.

Food items and gifts were distributed to over 80 widows to ameliorate their predicament.
