Kwara PDP Denounces “Saraki Loni Kwara” Cap Branding, Accuses APC of Desperate Propaganda

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly distanced itself from a circulating black cap bearing the inscription “SARAKI LONI KWARA,” describing it as a product of political mischief orchestrated by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in the state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the party denied any involvement in the production or distribution of the branded item, which has been widely shared across social media platforms.
“We want to make it abundantly clear that neither the PDP in Kwara State nor any of its recognized structures or affiliates authorized, produced, or distributed this souvenir,” Adewara stated.
According to the PDP, the branding effort is a “calculated mischief purportedly orchestrated by agents of the APC-led administration in Kwara, aimed at inciting the public against the party at a time the party’s popularity is growing.”
The statement accused the ruling party of attempting to rekindle “tired narratives and propaganda” in an effort to malign the legacy of former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki.
“The inscription is a clear attempt to revive tired narratives and propaganda, leveraging a distorted portrayal of Dr. Saraki’s legacy for political blackmail and misinformation,” the statement read.
The PDP further stated that “this desperate tactic is designed to incite public anger and redirect attention from the glaring failures of the current government.”
Urging the public to remain vigilant and not fall for what it described as divisive antics, the party emphasized its commitment to “mobilizing the people for real democratic development and good governance, not on gimmickry or divisive propaganda.”
The opposition party called on law enforcement agencies to investigate those responsible for circulating the materials and bring them to justice.
“We also call on security agencies to be alert and ensure those circulating these materials on social media are made to account for their mischief,” Adewara added.
He warned that the PDP “will no longer tolerate the use of social media or other platforms to disseminate falsehoods against the party or its respected figures.”
