Ekiti LG boss, Dallas donates foodstuff to staff, relief materials to schools

The Executive Chairman of Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, Comrade Yinka Ayeni Dallas, yesterday, distributed food stuff to the council employees due to the delay in payment of June salary as a result of Federal Allocation Committee impasse.
Dallas yesterday stormed the council secretariat at Araromi-Opin with various grains and he personally commenced the distribution after addressing the staff.
He said, โ€œYou will agree with me that due to the deadlock witnessed during the Federal Allocation Committee meeting in Abuja, many states and local governments have been unable to pay June salary. However, as an administrator who shares in your pain and one committed to the welfare of its staff, I have decided to provide this succour to cushion the effect of what we are all going through at the moment,โ€ Dallas said.
The elated employees appreciated the Chairman for the gesture and prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom for Dallas. They also promised to rededicate their efforts in taking the council to greater heights.
In a related development, the council boss last Thursday donated relief materials to schools recently affected by rainstorm in the local government.
The donation was done by the chairman on the need to create serene environment for learning among pupils of various public schools in the area.
Materials donated include; 20 bundles of roofing sheets, 10 mattresses, two sewing machines, food stuffs, detergents and writing materials.
The materials were donated during the presentation of merit award to the council boss by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ekiti branch, last Thursday, at Osi Township Hall for his sterling performance since he assumed office.
Speaking at the event, the Ekiti NUT Chairman, Com. Oyebode Johnson said it would be difficult to recollect all the impacts made by Dallas as regards Ekiti NUT, schools and various communities, adding that the council boss has earned the trust of the people.
He listed other areas where the NUT benefitted from the present leadership of the council as financial assistance to AOPSHON, regular loan from Micro finance bank to teachers and solution to the perennial problem of salary omission and underpayment.
He however charged Dallas not to relent in his efforts even as he prayed for God’s guidance.
In his remarks, the council boss appreciated the NUT for deeming him fit for honour even as he promised the union and people of Ekiti of his firm support.
The highlight of the event is cultural display by various public schools across the local government.
