YOFMAN to sanitise movie industry

The Yoruba Film Maker Association of Nigeria has condemned the prevalence of immoral content in movies being produced by films producers in Nigeria in recent time.
The Kwara State Governor of the association, Hamzat Abdulrasheed Adeoti during an interview with Pilot Showbiz on Tuesday.
While noting that most of the movies are encouraging social vices especially among youths, he stressed that the association is set to sanitise the Yoruba movie industry.
Adeoti stated that YOFMAN was established to correct the ugly trend and groom practitioners who will bring sanity into the industry.
“Films are meant to inform, educate and entertain and not to misinform or mislead members of the public. We will correct the ills in our movie industry.
“We want to make sure that home video can be watched s been by all Nigerians irrespective of their ages. We have to do away with immoral films.
“We want to promote our culture and sanitise the market to curb indecency. we have started media tour on the campaign.
“We have produced movies that promote morality which are currently showing on Nigbati TV channel such as Loju Alami, and Ololade, which will soon be aired.”
He urged the state government to harness the revenue potentials in the education sector, adding, ” we want to work hand in hand with the state government because the film industry can create jobs for the youth.”
