Kwara PDP To APC: You Are Exhibiting Arrogance In Ignorance, Taking Kwarans For Fools

* Badmouthing PDP Era Amounts To Self-Mockery

By Ahmed Ajikobi

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara state has berated the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, and its government in the state for continuously reeling out fabricated data with no known sources in a bid to hoodwink the people of Kwara.

The opposition party in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara (Sholyments), said instead of the ruling party to be gloating in ignorance, the party should be remorseful over the disgraceful conduct of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq at UNGA, where he was quoted reeling out non-existing statistic to fake his administration’s performance in education before some international envoys.

“The PDP holds that the Governor’s claims at UNGA, if not quickly debunked as graciously done by the party, is capable of labeling all Kwarans as potential liars before the international community, especially when those false claims are cross-checked from available records”.

“We insist that education sector, just like other facets of governance in Kwara, has suffered serious lackluster policies and infertile ideas since 2019. We also like to remind the APC that from the UNESCO report on education which was published by the World Bank in 2022, it was clearly stated that Kwara state’s figure for the out of school children was pegged at 141,325 compared to the earlier 84,247 in 2018, an increment of about 68% barely three years of Abdulrahman in office. By implication, more than fifty seven thousand Kwara’s children dropped out of school in the period under review”.

“The APC is taking Kwarans for fools in her attempts to underrate the PDP led administrations’ contributions to Kwara education. A ruling party, whose government is operating without any clear cut educational policy, lacks moral right to question the PDP under whose administration “Every child count” policy was introduced, a policy that was later adopted by Nigeria government and used in many states of the federation”

“Our party, PDP, which created the prestigious Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin International Aviation College, IVTEC, Ajase-Ipo and many other institutions which have trained, graduated and even provided employment platforms for thousands of Kwarans, including many APC leaders today, will not stoop low to be exchanging banters with the Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman led APC government which is now benefiting from her administration’s standing legacies”

“We wish to inform the APC that the era of joining them to drag issue of diversion of UBEC fund that was never there is gone, should they discover any missing fund from SUBEB and link to any official of the immediate past administration, we challenge them to approach court to retrieve such money and punish the culprits instead of throwing tantrums on social media as if all Kwarans are not informed. Many Kwarans are discerning and have knowledge of the principle of counterpart funding. They are also not ignorant that the immediate past administration stopped providing its counterpart funding when it was confronted with economic challenges. That it didn’t divert any fund was the reason this current administration was able to execute projects up to the years the former paid last”

“Lastly, as a party, we wish to remind Alhaji Tajudeen Folaranmi Aro, that he remains unfit to join other mischievous APC members in badmouthing the PDP regime in Kwara state under which he served as Council Chairman of Offa LGA in 2003. While we sympathize with him for the sordid job given him to continue cooking lies against the PDP and its leadership, we enjoined him to watch his back as such action amounts to self indictment of his tenure as Chairman”

“For Alhaji Aro to be claiming PDP regime was unproductive means his tenure as Offa LG Chairman under the PDP platform witnessed unproductiveness and waste of Taxpayers’ money.

Offa people therefore should hold Aro accountable for any wasted fund belonging to the local government during his reign as council boss”, the part concluded
