Jimoh Ibrahim’s mother, burnt to death in son’s house

 

Omofemiwa Ibrahim, the mother of the Nigeria famous billionaire businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim has reportedly been burnt to death.
The mother who was 78 years met her untimely death at her son, Ibrahim’s residence at Ibrahim’s Road 3B8 Victoria Garden City, Lekki, Lagos State on Saturday.
The fire was said to have broken out in the early hours of Saturday.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, which responded to a distress call and provided photographs on its social media, said the fire was caused by power surge.
The LASEMA Response Unit wrote on its Twitter handle, @lasemasocial: “LRU Fire and Rescue unit on a fire rescue operation at VGC. Fire was caused by a Power surge.”
The Agency urged Lagosians to “endeavour to check all power units in our individual homed regularly”.
The Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaki Musibau, said the fire service was alerted at 2:20am and its Lekki Phase 1 station operatives arrived at the scene around 2:27am.
Musibau said the Lekki Phase 1 station met the VGC fire station on ground, which didn’t have enough equipment to put out the fire.
The fire was eventually put out at about 4am.
The spokesman, Lagos State Police Command, Chike Oti, confirmed the incident.
