Kaiama-Kishi Road: Kwara Speaker to lead colleagues on inspection

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad is to lead his colleagues during on-the-spot-assessment visit to the ongoing Kaiama-Kishi road in order to fast track the pace of work on the multi billion Naira Federal Government project.
The House resolved to pay on-the-spot-assessment visit to the road, following a Matter of Urgent Public Importance raised by member representing Kaiama/Kemanji/Wajibe Constituency Hon. Ahmed Ibn Mohammed, on the slow pace of work on the 63km road project.
The Speaker, while reading the resolutions of the House, directed that the contractor handling the project, along with the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya should appear before the Committee of the Whole of the House, at the site of the project, why much has not been achieved on the road project with the sum of N1.1billion released so far to the contractor.
Dr. Ahmad explained that the completion of the road, would go a long way, in the socio- economic transformation of people of the area, saying that the insertion of constituency projects in the budget by legislature was to ensure that all and sundry feel the impact of the FG.
The Speaker then directed the House Committee on Works and Transport, to make arrangement for the inspection and inform necessary stakeholders within the next two weeks.
The House also directed its Committee on Works and Transport, to inspect the collapsed Ejji Bridge in Offa and come up with its findings, following Matter of Urgent Public Importance, raised by member representing Essa/Shawo/Igboidun Constituency, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke.
