NGO empowers 25 widows, awards scholarship to 4

A Non-Government Organisation, Amugold Helpers Foundation has empowered 25 widows with the sum of N500,000.
The foundation also gave out scholarships to four children as part of their educational support to the society.
Speaking during the 2019 Jimpo Cute Baby grand finale organised in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, the Chairman of Amugold Group, Amujo Temitope said, “The foundation has five major mandates where we intend to provide help to the needy. These mandates are; Students helper, Widows helper, Orphans helper, Business and Farmers helper.
“Today, we are giving out scholarships to four Jimpo cute babies, while the remaining 98 contestants will also go home with other amazing prizes worth millions of naira.
“Permit me to specifically appreciate the Amujo family who supported us with N200,000 cash scholarship for the first position. As they are doing this in remembrance of their late father, Pa Joseph Ige Amujo.
“We are also going to award business grants of N500,000 to identified 25 vulnerable widows who we believe N20,000 will do a lot in their lives, through the support of Threshold of Hope foundation in person of Dr. Mrs. Bola Yusuf of KAMWIRE.โ
In her remarks, the Managing Director of Amujo Global Network, Mrs. Adebola Amujo said, ” We deemed it fit to celebrate every parent that use Jimpo- Ori for their babies through our Corporate Social Responsibility. And our products have gone to all the 36 states in Nigeria and the country so much believe in us.
According to her the criteria for the contests for the babies is voting on the company’s Instagram, Facebook page and website.
Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Threshold of Hope Foundation, Dr Yusuf noted that the place of children in the nation still calls for serious concern due to the alarming rate of insecurity, joblessness, child molestation, trafficking and abuse.
Among the highlights of the event were the performance by Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo and presentation of cheques.
