State Information wins 4th Kwara SWAN Media Games

 

The Kwara State Information Chapel has emerged the overall winner of the just concluded Media Games organised by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The chapel went home with giant trophy haven garnered five gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
The winners of twenty fifteen edition, NTA Ilorin finished second with three gold, six silver and two bronze medals.
Radio Kwara secured three gold, three silver and three bronze medals to emerge third.
National Pilot Newspapers garnered one gold, one silver and two bronze medals to occupy 5th position.
Other chapels which, participated in the bi-annual event were The Herald Newspapers, Correspondents Chapel, Harmony FM and Federal Information chapel.
In the final of football event, State Information beat Radio Kwara 1-0, while Kwara State Television Authority humbled gallant National Pilot Newspapers eight 8-1 in the third place match played earlier at the Kwara Football Academy pitch in Ilorin.
Meanwhile, the Kwara State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria has congratulated all the media houses in the state over the success of the just concluded media games.
The Association in a statement by its Assistant Secretary, Abdulrosheed Okiki commended the managements and athletes of the nine media outfits that participated in the games for exhibiting good character and show of sportsmanship throughout the championship.
The SWAN also thanked the Kwara State Government, the President, Kwara United Football Club, Prince Oladimeji Thompson; Vice President, Nigerian Dart Federation, Alabi Amuda; the family of Late Professor Sheu Jimoh; Main Organising Committee under the Chairmanship of Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba and various stakeholders in the state for the support in organising the media games.
The games featured Scrabble, Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Dart, Draft, Tennis and Football events.
