Alleged Ghost Schools: KWSG sets up 11-man C’ttee

The Kwara State Government said it has set up a 11-man committee to investigate the allegation of the existence of ghost schools in the state.
The Publicity Secretary of Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB), Mrs Olufunke Olorunishola confirmed the development weekend in a telephone chat with this medium.
The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Tajudeen Aro in a recent interview had alleged that over two hundred fake schools where fraudulently added to the original schools in Kwara State for selfish reasons.
Aro, who claimed this was contained in the report submitted by the Transition Committee (TC) set up by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq after election did not provide any list available to authenticate his claim.
Some stakeholders have however fault the position of the party accusing if unnecessarily discrediting the last government to score political points instead allowing the Government to carry out empirical findings to unravel to truth of the matter and for those found wanting to be punished by the law.
According to the scribe, the 11 man committee were draw from state and local government officials including from the ministry of education.
“This is a new development that we have and already an 11-man committee has been inaugurated comprising four officials from SUBEB, four from Tescom and three from Ministry of Education.
“The committee has not given any submission yet and I am yet to confirm the date of submission of the report”, she added.
