Revenue Generation: Sarat advocates establishment of data banks in LGs

The Kwara state chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Hajia Sarat Nike Adebayo has advocated for the establishment of data banks in the area of revenue generation.
According to her, the move will provide adequate information on the inflow and outflow about revenue in the various local governments which will enhance productively.
She said this at a one-day training workshop on the functions and responsibilities of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) department in the sixteen local government of Kwara state organised by the commission held on Friday in Ilorin.
The PRS is a new department created by the commission’s boss.
According to her, it is the responsibility of the commission to train and retrain staff adding that the creation of the PRS was in line with the policy thrust of the Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed administration in its bid to add value to planning and research to enhance productively.
She said before now, things were been muddled up in when the PRS was still under finance and supply which she noted was in line with international practice.
Hajia Adebayo however described the training as fulfilment of one of the cardinal objectives of the present ammonisation on human capital development for better service delivery adding that the facilitators were carefully selected for the workshop.
Others at the programme include the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Jubril Baba Haruna, Director of Finance, Deacon Ishola Abiodun and Assistant Director, Planning and Research, Mallam Kpatako Abubakar among others.
