The Senate President and Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has donated the sum of N20 million towards the successful holding of the 2018 Ilorin Durbar festival.
The event where 500 horse riders are expected to participate will take place at the Emirs Palace, Ilorin, on Wednesday, a day after the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Director General of ABS Constituency Office, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi said Saraki made the donation to ensure a colourful and hitch- free durbar event.
He added that the Senate President sent his goodwill message to the organisers of the event and urged residents, the horse riders and spectators to conduct themselves in peaceful and orderly manner before, during and after the Eid-el-Kabir and durbar celebrations.

In a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ajayi Okasanmi warned members of the public not to use or display banners with political inscriptions or slogans during the event.
โSallah celebration should be for all adherents of Islamic faith and their friends and should be celebrated joyfully irrespective of their political affiliations. Any breach will be treated accordingly.โ
