Ahmed pledges more projects in Kwara

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has reiterated his commitment to community development projects in the state.
Speaking at the weekend during the 2nd Ijomu Oro Day Celebration in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state, the governor said he would complete all the projects he initiated while his successor will continue where he leaves.
Ahmed, who was represented by his deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Leke Ogungbe, commended the communal efforts of Ijomu Oro community and enumerated the supportive efforts of his administration including the construction of the asphalt Oro Police Station – Ijomu Oro road.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to upgrading of the Oloro of Oro stool to first class status.
Similarly, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed praised the indomitable communal spirit of Oro adding that he was proud to be a โson of the soil.”
The minister, who was represented by his wife, Hajia Kudirat Mohammed, expressed delight at the turn out.
In his remarks, the paramount ruler of Oro, Oba Abdulrauf Ajiboye Oyelaran I, urged the people of the town to come home and participate actively in the 2019 elections to enhance communal development.
Spokesman of the community and the Oloriewe of Oro, Chief Raheem Adedoyin expressed appreciation to indigenes of the town and invited guests.
Adedoyin recalled that the first Ijomu Oro Day took place exactly 20 years ago, stressing that the jinx been broken.
Highlights of the occasion include; free medical services by the Igbomina Mobile Clinic and launching of N250m Ijomu Oro Market Fund.
Dignitaries at the event included; representatives of Sen. Rafiu Ibrahim, Engr Ademola Banu and Hon. Moshood Mustspha, former secretary to the Kwara State government, Alh. Ganiyu Cook Olododo, former security adviser to the governor, Hon. Yinka Aluko, traditional chiefs among others.
