Ex-Nigeria Premier League member, Owolabi bags ADA award

Former Board Member of Nigeria Premier League (NPL), Alhaji Abdulrasaq Adebayo Owolabi Wopa has been honoured with a ‘Distinguished’ award by Agbaji Development Association (ADA), Ilorin.

According to the President of the association, Alhaji Abdulmumeen Moyosore, the honour bestowed on him was as a result of his immense contribution to development of youths and the entire agbaji community.

He enjoyed the owolabi and other awardees to continuing their goodwill in the society, adding that the honour and recognition given to them will further spur them to giving more support to the community.

Reacting to the gesture, owolabi, who is the former Vice Chairman of Kwara United FC thanked Agbaji Development Association for the honoured bestowed on him.

He described the award as a big honoured to him and his entire family, considering the importance and dignitaries, who organised the award ceremony.

He however thanked the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bukola Saraki for exposing him politically and sports wise.

He also thanked the former Minister, National Planning and Economic Development, Prof. Olarewaju Sulyman for given him the opportunity to serve under him when he was a minister in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Among the awardees are former Minister, National Planning and Economic Development, Prof. Olarewaju Sulyman, Comrade Abubakar Lanbe, Chairman, SUBEB, Kwara State and others.
