Christians urged to emulate Jesus

Christians have again been charged to be Christ-like  in  all of their dealings and every day living in order for a better society.

The Vicar- in- charge of Christ the King Anglican Church, Geri Alimi, Ilorin, Kwara State, Venerable Adefolarin Malomo gave the charge at the weekend, in his sermon delivered at this year’s Joint Christmas Carol Service of the three Kwara State owned media houses themed “the Messiah Cometh” held at the premises of Radio Kwara, Ilorin.

Venerable Malomo who is a Professor of Neurosurgeon, University College Hospital, Ibadan called on Christians to show love to people especially during this Christmas season.

The Cleric implored them to live a life worthy of emulation to ensure that the coming of Jesus Christ was not in vain.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the state Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Professor Timothy Opoola who was represented by the Chairman, Directorate of Youth and Women Development, Evangelist Adesina Awofadeji commended the three media houses for sustaining the carol service, urging them not to relent in spreading the gospel across the nation.

The carol service attended by media practitioners, clergymen and women among others witnessed rendition of songs by invited artistes and host choir.

Similarly, Pastor Tunde Ogunbiyi has called on Christians to worship only the living God to receive abundant blessing.

Pastor Ogunbiyi made the call today while speaking at this year’s Christmas Carol and seven lessons of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Ilorin District Headquarters themed “the roots of David”.

The Cleric explained that Jesus Christ came to the world to salvage and save mankind from sin and destruction.

He urged members of the C & S Movement Church Ilorin District and environs to attend the 35th three days and nights Mountain Ascension Revival tagged “Conquering faith” billed for Mount Seraph at Laduba from Wednesday till Saturday morning

Also in his message, the Minister- in -charge of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Imole, Amoyo,Pastor Segun James prayed that God would free the nation from its present predicament, calling on the people to believe firmly in his power to turn things around for good.

Pastor James was of strong opinion that the Lord would heal the land from sickness and untimely death.

He called on the people to desist from wicked acts to ensure the progress and development of the nation.

Speaking on the topic “Esther as an imparter”, the Minister -in- charge of United Evangelical Miracle Church Off Yidi Road Ilorin, Pastor Taiye Aransiola called on Christians to be bold and courageous  to stand for the truth and fight for the good of others.

Pastor Aransiola charged women to be upright and leave good legacy for the coming generation.

Prophet Peter Oladipo of the C&S Movement Church lpetu-lgbomina cautioned Christians against sinful acts,  calling on them to exhibit examplary life worthy of emulation.

Also in his sermon at the on going  50 days fasting and prayer, Pastor Aremu Abioye of the Ark of God Covenant Faith Bible Ministry, Amoyo emphasised the need for Christians to look unto God always as He is able to do all things.

Prophet Peter Kolawole Williams of the C AC Faith Chapel along Asa-Dam road, Ilorin urged Nigerians to watch their utterances and desist from sin.

Pastor ldowu Constain of the New Life Holy Trinity Chapel, Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin appealed to Nigerians to put God first in all they do.
