The Director Grassroots Development, Federal Ministry of Sports, Dr. Demola Are confirmed that the Federal Government has approved fund for the 4th edition of National Youth Games scheduled to hold at the University of Ilorin Sports Complex from 7th to 17th of September 2018.
Are, who is also the Chairman of Main Organising Committee of the 2018 NYG revealed this on Saturday while speaking about the readiness of the commission for the games on a telephone call with Pilot Sports.
Ademola said, “We are ready for the 2018 National Youth Games because as I’m speaking to you, all the venues are ready and the facilities are in good shape. The Federal Government has also approved fund for the championship.
“The host, University of Ilorin have put together all necessary arrangements to ensure that we have a successful competitions and I want to assure all the participants that by the time they come before September July 7th, 2018, everything will be in good shape”, he assured.
Meanwhile, effort made to talk to the host (UNILORIN) proved abortive as the University’s Director of Sports, couldn’t not be reaching, as calls and messages sent to his phone were not responded to as at the time of filing this report.
The main Organising committee last week sent note of warning to all the participants states that violates the rules will be fined five million and coaches involved with be suspended for three years while the state will be banned.
