24 marketers arrested over N300m fraud in Ilorin

 

The men of Kwara State Police Command have arrested 24 marketers of Prime Trade Investment Nigeria Limited, Government Reserved Area, Ilorin.

The marketers suspected to be fraudsters were arrested on 1st September, 2018 for absconding with investors’ N300m, invested into bitcoin business.

The marketers are, Animashaunn Oluwabunmi, Akintola Eunice Taiwo, Senorita Naman, Oyeleke Abiodun, Ogunrongbe Alaba, Olayode Omolade, Balogun Oluwatosin, Akanji Opeyemi, Jimoh Jamiu and Moronkola Damilola.

Others are, Lawrence Christiana, Jeremiah Abioye, Victorious Ife, Ola-Oni Victoria, Asaolu Abiola, Abdulrahman Rahirat Alayo, Anselem Anita, Yusuf Arafat, Ajala Margaret Chizobam, Oyelede Roseline, Ademola Bolanle, Emmanuel Bolu, Tamilola Victoria and Bakinde Folashade Patience.

Pilot Crime learnt that others involved in the fraud are currently at large.

According to a police source, the case was reported at the state Police Command by one Ashaolu Joseph and four other victims.

“The victims said they were approached by the marketers in July to invest in the Bitcoin business and get a return of 25% profit few days after.

“They went to the office and met the operator of the company, Sanni Mohammed, Yusuf Balogun and Chief Adekunle Ogunbanjo Jamiu.

“They were given a register from where it was discovered that over two hundred members of the public had registered.

“The unsuspecting people invested their money and discovered the following monthย ย ย that the operators had absconded with their money.

โ€œThe police investigated the matter, which led to arrest of 24 marketers, who were used by the operators to lure people to invest into the business,” he added

When contacted, the State Police Spokesman, DSP Ajayi Okansami, who confirmed the incident, said, the case is still undergoing investigation.
