Power Outage: IBEDC to restore electricity to Ilorin communities, environs tomorrow 

 

Respite is on the way for communities in Ilorin and its environs in Kwara State that have been thrown into blackout in the past two weeks, as electricity  would be restored to affected areas today ( Thursday).
The Head of Communications, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), Mr. Kola Asaju gave the assurance, during a chat with Pilot Business on Wednesday.
“Our engineers from Ibadan are on ground working tirelessly to fix the problem. I’m assuring you that by tomorrow (Thursday) our customers will have the power supply restored,” he said.
Areas affected by the power outage are Asa-Dam, Olunlade, Offa Garage and Ganmo areas.
Asaju appreciated the customers for their patient and understanding over the situation.
Findings by this medium revealed that that the 15MVA 33/11KV injection substation transformer at the Asa Dam developed fault.
A reliable source at the 132KV Ilorin Transmission Company of Nigeria, who craved anonymity confirmed that the injection transformer which is responsible for supply of power to other transformers in the affected areas, stopped functioning.
The source disclosed that the company had purchased new equipment and engineers at Jebba and Ibadan were fixing the substation transformer.
