Kwara NANTA vows to eliminate quackery
The newly inaugurated Kwara State Coordinator of National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), Mr. Olawale James has said the association would do everything possible to eliminate activities of quacks in the sector.
He stated this during an interview with Pilot Aviation while speaking on the various measures put in place to checkmate activities of quacks in the state.
He said, “We are putting up measures in collaboration with security agencies to eradicate those fraudulent practitioners in the state.
“The association has been maligned by activities of quacks and this has affected the trust customers have in us. We want to push the fake agents out in order to restore our integrity.
“I’m calling on my members to authenticate their operations in accordance with the international best practices.
“We’ll reach out to the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and security agencies at the airport to give them authentic list of members in Kwara State under the western zone and inform our headquarters appropriately.
On high airfares in the aviation industry, he advised passengers to always purchase their tickets long before the day of their flights to save money.
James, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Sunset Birds Travels noted that tickets for both international and local schedules varies depending on the period.
“Customers should be vigilant to monitor the changes in the airfares because when you buy your ticket on time you stand the chances to pay at cheaper rate than buying at the counter on the very day of your flight.
“As a passenger once you have gotten your visa to travel abroad, it’s advisable to buy your ticket immediately the coordinator and the Secretary, Hajia Halimat Abdulsalami will handle the activities of the state agencies for the next two years.”
