Notorious cultist, Kale Bayero nabbed in Ilorin

After being declared wanted for about three years, notorious cultist, Kale Bayero was arrested by a Joint Community Team (JCT) early hours of Sunday at his Ogidi area hideout in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, National Pilot can report.
The JCT had launched manhunt for Bayero following the terror his boys unleashed on Eruda community after he hit a passer-by with his car in the area and immediately sped off.
Speaking to our reporter, yesterday, a member of one of the communities who pleaded anonymity said that the JCT had earlier invaded the home of the foot soldiers of the suspect at Baboko, who subsequently led them to the hideout of Bayero.
“After his arrest, the aide pleaded with the JCT not to unleash terror on him as he promised to lead them to Bayero’s hideout.
“He led them to Ogidi along Technical Secondary School area but there was no trace of Bayero after the JCT surrounded the area.”
Speaking further, the source said the JCT searched every house in sight until a resident of Ogide asked them to re-direct their search to a particular spot where people smoke Indian hemp.
He added that the JCT invaded the building and discovered the suspect’s gang but they immediately took to their heels.
“Kale Bayero was however discovered having sexual intercourse with one of his girlfriends in the area. Upon sighting the JCT, he ran into the toilet in the room where he was finally caught, beaten and tied with some members of his gang. The community thereafter handed him over to the police at the Headquarters, Ilorin,” the source divulged.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the incident adding that the suspect is currently undergoing investigation at the police headquarters.
“He has been declared wanted for criminal activities and he will be investigated thoroughly of his criminal activities,” he said.
