Kwara Lawmaker pays school fees, provides 150 uniforms

House Leader, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Hassan Oyeleke, on Monday paid school fees and donated uniforms worth N3 million to 150 secondary school students in Offa Local government area of the state.
The event which took place at Offa Grammar School (OGS) was witnessed by parents of the beneficiaries and eminent sons and daughters of the community.
In his remarks, Oyeleke said he embarked on the gesture to assist indigent students and further boost the educational development of his constituency.
Oyekeke, who made a flashback to his school days as a poor student, said the gesture was to further rekindle the aspirations of brilliant indigent learners.
According to him, the gesture will be an annual exercise in order to capture more recipients.
The lawmaker therefore, called on those in positions of authority to always contribute to education development in the area.
The Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi, in his message called on his subjects to complement government’s efforts in education.
The monarch, who was represented by Esa of Offa, Alhaji Yinus Bukoye, praised Oyeleke for the gesture and urged other political office holders to emulate him.
Speaking, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senatorial Chairman for Kwara South, Alhaji Jimoh Balogun, urged the affluent to replicate the kind gesture of Oyeleke for rapid development in education.
The Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muyideen Hussein in his sermon implored those in positions of authority to render assistance to the less privileged in order to get reward hereafter.
