Brentford Defender Odubajo on Nigeria radar for int’l switch

Brentford full-back Moses Odubajo has been approached for a Nigeria call-up and possibly feature for the Super Eagles at 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The 25-year-old, who played for England’s youth teams under AidyBoothroyd, is set to switch countries to play for three-time African champions.

He played for England U20s in 2015 โ€“ but has yet to make a senior appearance for the Three Lions.

The defender made five appearances for the young Three Lions in that period.

Odubajo has battled back from two years of injury hell with a dislocated knee to rejoin Brentford this season and get regular games in the Championship.

And he will get rewarded with an international call-up after getting on the radar of Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr according to a report in British online news tabloid, theย sun.co.uk.

Odubajo will be included in the squad for next year’s qualifier against Seychelles, with the finals to be held at the end of the season in Cameroon.

Earlier this season Odubajo admitted he considered quitting football during his two years of injury setback.

It can be recalled that Super Eagles coach, Gerhot Rohr recently told CSN that Huddersfield Town midfielder Philip Billing has been contacted for possible switch to play international football for Nigeria.
