The Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has commissioned the multimillion building of the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) at Ilorin International Airport, on Thursday.
The project constructed by the state government at a total cost of N60, 694, 567.43, is one of the several projects funded under the Kwara State Infrastructure Development Fund (IF-K).
Recall that the state government over a decade ago had demolished the NAMA edifice for the construction of the cargo terminal building and promised to build another one for the agency.
Therefore, the construction of the 17-room office accommodation is a fulfilment of the earlier agreement between NAMA and the state government.
The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold confirmed that the NAMA building is one of the several projects funded under the Kwara State Infrastructure Development Fund (IF-K).
He assured Kwarans that all ongoing projects embarked upon by the present administration will be completed before the expiration of his tenure.
According to him, the government is committed to bridging infrastructure gap towards improving socioeconomic development across the state.
The governor then called for collaboration of all stakeholders to ensure safety of the airport environment and by extension, Kwara State and the country at large.
Also speaking, the Airspace Manager at the airport, Mr. Balogun Abiodun, lauded the gesture, noting that the comfortability of NAMA staff will go a long way in enhancing the safety of the airport.
He emphasised that the completion of the long awaited office edifice is welcome development for smooth operation by staff of the agency.
