Rohr: It won’t be easy for ‘Simy’ Nwankwo to break into Super Eagles
Gernot Rohr has admitted Salernitana striker Simeon Nwankwo will not find it easy to break into the Super Eagles with so many high-profile strikers available for selection.
‘Simy’ made the final squad to the 2018 World Cup and has yet to play for the country even after he netted a record-breaking 20 goals in Serie A last season.
The striker will now have to face the likes of Victor Osimhen (Napoli), Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City), Paul Onuachu (Genk), Terem Moffi FC Lorient) and Taiwo Awoniyi (Union Berlin) for a place in the Eagles squad.
“’Simy’ is another player at the centre of our scouting, but in the Nigeria squad, we have many high-profile strikers,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.com
“There is great competition in the role of centre-forward and it will not be easy for him to get a place.”
