The leadership of the Young Lawyers’ Forum (YLF) last Friday impeached two of its executives over alleged non performance.

Those impeached from office were the secretary of the forum, Adebayo Akolade and the Financial Secretary; Folake Moronfoye.

The impeachment of the duo was sequel to the notification of resolution of the general meeting of the YLF which was held on 7th December, 2018.

The notification was addressed to the chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ilorin branch, Muhammed Idowu Akande and it was counter signed by chairman of the YLF, Olayinka Dauda Jimoh and its welfare secretary, Abdulrasheed Lawal.

The notification reads thus; “The executive members of the YLF wish to bring to your notice that at our General Meeting held on 7th December, 2018 at the bar centre (Salman Aliyu SAN) resolved to remove the secretary and financial secretary of the legal association.

“It is to be noted that the reason for their removal by the general meeting is that the duo have absented themselves from the meeting for three consecutive times and the resolution of the house in line with section 14(1) (H) of the NBA unified Bye Law 2015.

Speaking on the issue is the chairman of the YLF, who maintained that their removal from office is the collective decision of the lawyers at the general meeting.
