2019: ‘It’s sad Muslims have prioritise preparation for election than hereafter’

Muslims have been advised to prepare for the Day of Judgement by engaging themselves in good deeds because this world is not a resting place.

This was the trust of a Friday sermon (Khutba) delivered by an Imam of Al-Ilal mosque, GRA, Ilorin Abdul Yassar AbdulQodir, adding that no matter how long Muslims live in this world, everybody will definitely return to Allah.

AbdulQodir further said that death is certain for everyone and urged Muslims to be ready for it as it can come at any time.

He therefore tasked Muslims to follow Allah’s instruction and not follow their heart desire to avoid the wrath of the almighty.

“Some Muslims have knowledge about Allah and yet they disobey Him. Those who engage in such acts will face the wrath of Allah, he submitted.

The Imam also encouraged Muslims not to play with time of Solat, adding that they should observe the daily five times prayer at the right time.

“Some give different kind of excuses when it’s time for Solat but what kind of excuses will they give for death when time is up.

AbdulQodir said some Muslims are seriously preparing for the coming 2019 election and forgot about Allah and the Day of Judgement, adding that unknown to some that they will not witness the  election.

The Imam said every Muslim’s dream of Janat but they don’t work towards it forgetting that paradise is not for free.
