Alex Badeh, former Chief of Defence staff, shot dead

The former Chief of defence staff, Alex Badeh has been reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen.
Spokesman of the Nigerian Air Force, Ibikunle Daramila announced this via his Twitter handle, yesterday.
According to him, Badeh died from gunshot wounds sustained in an attack while returning from his farm.
He said the sad incident happened at Gitata village along Abuja-Keffi road.
The statements read: โIt is with a heavy heart that I regretfully announce the unfortunate demise of former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, who died today, 18 Dec 18, from gunshot wounds sustained when his vehicle was attacked while returning from his farm along Abuja-Keffi Road.
โOn behalf of officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar, commiserates with the family of the late former chief of Defence Staff over this irreparable loss. We pray that the Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest.โ
Meanwhile, the military has since recovered Badeh’s body.
The deceased was a retired four star flag officer of the Nigerian Air Force who served as the 18th Chief of Air Staff (Oct 4, 2012 โ Jan 16, 2014) and the 15th Chief of Staff of the armed forces of Nigeria (Jan 16, 2014 โ July 13, 2015).
The late Badeh before his demise was arranged for alleged N3.9 billion fraud while in office during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
