KWIRS generates N57.9bn in 3yrs

…rakes in N20.5 bn in 11 months

The Kwara Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) has generated N57.9 billion since inception of the agency about three and half years ago.
The Executive Chairman of KWIRS, Dr. Muritala Awodun disclosed this during a media parley in collaboration with Kwara State Ministry of Information and Communication in Ilorin on Thursday.
He added that the agency raked in N20.5ⁿ billion for 11 months in the 2018 fiscal year.
In the breakdown, he said the agency generated N17.4bn in 2016, realised 19.9bn the following year, while in 2018 it raked in N20.5bn.
For this year, Awodun further said that KWIRS collected the sum of N2.2 billion in January, N2.9 billion and N1.8 b for February and March respectively.
In the second quarter, for April the sum of N 1.29 billion was realised, N1.2 billion in May and June N 1.18 billion
For the third quarter in July a revenue of N 1.3 billion was made while in August and September the sum of N 2.5 billion and N2.1 billion were raked in.
According to him, in the last quarter of the year, the agency generated N1.6 billion in October, N2.7 billion for November and expecting to make about N3 billion in December.
He said: “We are hopeful that our revenue generation for the month of the December shall be the highest so far.
On the Infrastructure Development funds(IFK), the Chairman stated that KWIRS has contributed N13 billion in three years.
