CAFCL: Adi rewards Lobi with N2m for Gor Mahia win

Nigerian forward, Fanendo Adi, has rewarded Lobi Stars with N2m following Saturday’s 2-0 win against Kenyan champions, Gor Mahia in their CAF Champions League First Round, second round fixture.
Lobi Stars who lost the first leg 3-1 sailed through to the group stages on away goals rule with result tied at 3-3 on aggregate.
Sikiru Alimi, who recently linked up with the Makurdi club from another Nigeria Professional Football League side, Sunshine Stars bagged a brace for his side in the encounter.
Alimi opened scoring in the 70th and added the second eight minutes later to break the heart of the Kenyans who were looking to make it through to the group phase for the first time.
Adi, who plays for Cicinnati Stars in the Major League Soccer and hails from Benue State, CSN learnt, doled out N1m to the team for the win and N500,000 for each the Lobi Stars’ two goals.
Lobi Stars are looking to become the second Nigerian club to win the CAF Champions League after Enyimba lifted it back to back in 2003 and 2004.
