Ex-Pilot staff becomes president of Agbaji Descendant Association

A former staff of National Pilot Newspaper, Alhaji Olanrewaju Yusuf has been inaugurated as the President of Agbaji Development Association (ADA).
The Yusuf-led executive was inaugurated at the Agbaji quarters in Ilorin, Kwara State, yesterday.
Other members of the newly inaugurated executives include; Barr. Mustapha AbdulAkeem, National Vice President, Abdulganiyu Olarewaju, Secretary,Yusuf Abdulahi as Financial Secretary,Mustapha Agana as Treasurer,Engr. Yusuf Rasak as PRO II while AbdulRasheed Asukuti as PRO I.
The Pioneer President of the association, Arc. Eyitayo Moyosore advised the newly elected executives to make proper use of their office stressing that, they got the positions not their by power but God.
Moyosere added that, the new excos are meant to be servant to their people while stressing that they should treat the people with respect and also attend to their needs.
Moyosore said the association should focus on the development and welfare of Agbaji Community.
“Empowerment, employment, and skills acquisition should be your focus for Agbaji Youth.”
The newly elected President in his speech, unveiled his 10-point agenda saying he will work with all recognised associations in Agbaji to develop the community.
“I’ll lead the association with integrity and without fear or favour from anybody. I shall allow every officer of the association to discharge his duties without any interference. Accountability and transparency shall be my priority.”
Among other 10-point agenda are to promote the existing love and unity in the community, to work with his predecessors and influential indigenes of Agabaji and to secure employment for the youth in the community.
“I shall not relent on efforts to secure significant empowerment opportunity for our artisans, as well as financial assistance for traders in the community. I shall work for ADA to be recognised throughout the nation by registering it with the Corporate Affairs Commission. As a grassroots politician, I shall work towards linking the association to federal, state and local governments as well as private companies for possible benefits. I shall work towards having a befitting permanent secretariat for the association,” he stated.
He however tasked sons and daughters of Agbaji to contribute their quota to the development of the community.
