Ilorin Airport: FAAN renovates abandoned filing station

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has renovated the long abandoned filing station at the Ilorin International Airport, Kwara State.
The fuel station which has been completed and awaiting commissioning is expected to serve operational vehicles and the generators for effective services delivery at the airport.
Speaking through the Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr Adeyeoluwa Oluwakayode, the Airport Manager, Alhaji Ibrahim Azeez, said the renovation of the facility by FAAN is to improve operations at the airport.
He said: ” Our management at the headquarters deemed it fit to renovate the filling station in order to improve operations at the airport.
“The fuel station will be used by officials vehicles here and there is also a diesel pump that will serve the power station,” he added.
According to him, the station will commence operation soon, saying further that there are other efforts by the agency to improve service delivery at the airport.
He however declined to give the total cost of the renovation, when asked about the amount expended on the project.
He called on the immediate community to support the Airport management in ensuring safety of lives and property to enhance activities.
