The Chelsea loanee according to International Centre for Sports Studies – CIES Football Observatory is presently the best Nigerian player in the top five leagues in Europe (Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1) for the month of December.
CIES rated the players on a match-by-match basis by taking into account the pitch production and efficiency at both individual and collective level.
The Leganes central defender was the best rated Nigerian player at 75.3 and was 265th of the 751 players ranked.
With the 2019 African Nations Cup five months away, it is imperative the defender maintains the form especially as Leon Balogun and Chidozie Awaziem have continued to struggle for playing time in England and Portugal respectively.
