Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN has rejoiced with His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu on the occasion of his 25th anniversary of his ascension to the traditional throne on the 11th November, 1995.
In a letter signed by the Acting Registrar of KWASU, Mallam Mohammed Shuaib, the University’s helmsman extolled virtues of the Emir, whom he described as a peace loving and patriotic Nigerian.
He added that the peace and progress experienced in the Emirate in the last 25years is a testimony to the Emir’s quintessential leadership qualities.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria further described the Emir as a veteran Jurist, an outstanding administrator and a seasoned scholar, who has deployed his wealth of experience in fostering unity and peaceful coexistence in the Emirate and Kwara State as a whole.
The Legal luminary praised the Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi for his undaunting efforts in steering affairs of the Emirate progressively and pledged the University’s unalloyed support in preserving the heritage, customs and traditions of the ancient town of Ilorin.
He, however, prayed Allah to grant the paramount ruler and the 22th Emir a peaceful reign, long life and good health on the throne of his forefathers.
Similarly, the Comptroller of Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara Command, H.B Ahmed has felicitated with the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu Gambari as he celebrates 25th year anniversary on the throne.
The comptroller in a letter made available to this medium by its spokesman, Zakari Chado, commended the Emir for sustaining peace in the state.
“The Command values the contribution of His Highness to the State, over the years, you have won the hearts of Kwarans by your unique love and concern for the common good of the people and this is evident even at the mentioning of your name in any public gathering is always greeted with reverberating S-h-e-h-u.
“Under your leadership Sir, the state has witnessed tremendous growth in terms of human and physical infrastructural development, which had led the states to be ranked amongst the most peaceful state in Nigeria
“Our prayers at this moment are that Allah (SWT) should grant His Royal Highness good health and wisdom to continue to provide us with his purposeful leadership for many years to come. Accept the controller’s highest and esteemed regards
Also, the Provost of Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Alhaji Imam Abubakar Ayinla has joined other well meaning Nigerians to celebrate the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the 11th Emir of Ilorin on his 25th coronation anniversary.
The College Administrator described the 25 years reign of the royal father as, “very eventful and peaceful, that has brought desired sporadic socio-economic development to Ilorin and its environs.
“The enthronement of Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR to the elevated tool of Alimi dynasty has attracted tremendous growth and development to the Emirate communities with the demonstration of strong vision and commitments towards the preservation of the tradition, customs and culture of Ilorin people”, he added.
He further said, “His Royal Highness, Maimartaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR, the 11th Emir of Ilorin is an enigma who is celebrated daily by humanity because he has touched many lives, as a traditional ruler he uplifts Ilorin Emirate and its environs in particular and Kwara State in general.
“The college community and its leadership appreciate the exceptional qualities, unassuming, cerebral and patriotic personality of His Royal Highness.โ
