Christians urged to maximise opportunities’

By Mike Adeyemi
A Clergy, Reverend Steve Fatoye has stressed the need for Christians to optimally maximise every opportunity that comes their way in order to be successful in life.
Fatoye in his sermon yesterday during Sunday service at the Evangelical Church Willing All (ECWA) Osere, Ilorin, Kwara State said believers must be industrious.
According to him, Ephesians chapter 5 verses 16 says “I mean that you should use every opportunity you have for doing well, because these are evil time.
He added that Christians must not be lazy or stay idle particularly at a time when the country is going through economic hardship.
“It is either we are using our brain or not. You can’t do one business and stop, because the little we earn is not enough for us in the midst of current economic hardship.
“Christians must learn how to commercialise what they have as there is no business that is not rewarding.
“There is nobody on earth that God cannot elevate to the top. That little thing in your hand, if well managed can get you to your desired glory. Until there is a change within, there can’t be change around, as change begins with me and you,” he further said.
The cleric urged Christians to identify and awaken the sleeping giant in them, quoting from Revelation chapter 5 verses 10, which says believers shall reign on this earth.
“Whoever want to become a star must push it to the basis. Without a purpose in life, you are helpless,” he added.
…charged to give thanks at all times
By Kayode Adeoti
The Minister-in-charge of World Assembly, Ita Elepa branch, Ilorin, Kwara State has urged Christians to imbibe the attitude of giving God thanks at all times.
The clergy, Pastor Christopher Jimoh during his sermon on Sunday maintained that the only thing mankind can give in appreciation for God’s unflinching love is praise.
Preaching from the Psalm 145, he said people will appreciate God better when they have better understanding of His greatness.
“God is greatly to be praised for all His wondrous works. When a Christian is faced with issues of life, he should rather reflect and think of God’s greatness and His grace upon his life,” he cleric admonished.
He added that Christians should know that they are alive and where they are is as a result of God’s grace.
“Many people desired to be alive but are not. Those of us that are alive are not better off but only enjoying God’s grace. So, give thanks for this and stop counting your loses,” he stressed.
