2 remanded over alleged cultism in Ilorin

The Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin the Kwara State capital has remanded one Sefiu Sulyman and Kazeem Aliu over alledged cultism and possession of criminal charms.
The police First Information Report (FIR) revealed that the case was transferred from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department CIID, based on distress call received from the provost of the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin about secret cult activities within the school premises.
The NSCDC swiftly stormed the premises and arrested one Sulyman and Aliu.
The FIR further revealed that Sulyman and Aliu are members of the Aiye Secret Cult Confraternity initiated in the year 2017 and 2018 by one Fela and Buhari now at large. A search conducted on them led to the recovery of dangerous charms .
Investigation further revealed that Sulyman and Aliu are criminals terrorising innocent students and people in Kwara State College of Education and it’s environs.
They were dragged before Magistrate Ahmed Ibrahim for criminal conspiracy, been in possession of criminal charms and being members of secret cult contrary to section 2 punishable under section 14 of Secret Cult and Secret Societies (Prohibition) Law 2016.
The prosecutor, Nasiru Yusuf prayed the court to remand the accused persons in prison custody as investigation is ongoing on the matter.
In his short rulling , Ibrahim remanded the accused persons in prison. Meanwhile the matter was adjourned to 2nd April, 2019 for further mention.
