 9th Emir, Queen mother left inedible marks – Chief Imam

The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Basheer Salih on Sunday extolled the virtues of the 9th Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari Muhammed and the late queen mother, Alhaja Princess Aisha Sulu Gambari, both parents of the incumbent Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari.
This was his message at the special prayer in honour of the former emir and the Queen mother at Shiekh Imam Salih Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Egbejila, Ilorin on Sunday.
The Imam who recounted the invaluable roles the two personalities played in his life while they were alive noted the parental advice and religious guidance provided by them which has been very useful in his upbringing.
He said the significance of the event was that they are being celebrated in death not by their biological children which understood their impact in the lives of the people around them irrespective of their parents.
Imam Basheer warned on the consequences of attributing partners to Almighty Allah adding that anybody that die in such state will be resurrected with regret.
While noting the importance of the five pillars of Islam, the Chief Imam called on Muslims to always put their trust in Allah adding that they should be convinced that Islam is the religion with Allah.
He said the Emir of Ilorin, Sheikh Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari played a key role in the establishment of the institution which has produced many students that have advanced the course of Islam across the country.
The event was attended by the first Makama of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Oniye, Dr Oseni Arikewusola, Imam Agaka Mosque, Asa Dam, Ustaz Yusuf Murtador and Alhaji Modibbo Saliu Gambari and Imam Hamzah Ariyibi among others.
