Isale Aluko Youths in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State have pledged their support to the legislative aide of the Senate President, Hon Moshood Mustapha.
Speaking on behalf of the group at a press conference Wednesday, the former Commissioner I, Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, Alhaji Saliu Otubu, expressed their support for the political ambition of Mustapha, describing him as a thorough bred politician.
โHon. Moshood Mustapha has served the state in different capacities and he has never disappointed us.
โDuring the eight years (2003-2011) administration of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki as governor of Kwara State, MM used his various political positions as: Special Adviser to the governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Special Adviser to the governor on Special Duties, Amir Hajj of Kwara State Delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Commissioner for Lands and Housing, and Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, to improve the lives of his constituents and the evidence is there for everyone to see,โ he said.
He added that the numerous accomplishments of Mustapha when elected to represent Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives is a pointer to his leadership qualities.
He said they are proud that nearly three years after leaving the National Assembly, his constituency still talks glowingly about his unprecedented achievements.
According to him, the projects, empowerment schemes and patronages he brought to the constituency have remained unrivalled, adding that the politician has the interest of the youths at heart.
Otubu who is the current chairman of MM Forum, said he is surprised by the rumour of defection of his principal, describing it as a figment of imagination of some members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
“He’s the Special Adviser to the Senate President on Inter-Parliamentary and Protocol and I don’t see any reason for him to join opposition party.
โMustapaha is tested and trusted and we believe that if he is elected as the governor of Kwara State, he would turn around the socio-economic fortune of the state.
โSince charity begins at home, we the youths of Isale Aluko, the ancestral home of Hon. Mustapha Moshood, express our support for his political ambition. He is the son of the soil and we are ready to throw our weight behind him,โ Otubu submitted.
Otubu was corroborated by the Chairman of the Isale Aluko Youth Forum, Comrade Ameen Mustapha Akota during the programme.
